Property care and pandemic lockdown
As we write our first news post of our new website, the world is in the grip of the COVID-19 pandemic and most countries are in some form of lockdown, including Gibraltar. Like all businesses, we are following all regulations issued in Gibraltar and are taking the welfare, health and safety of our team members and our clients extremely seriously.
Yet, precisely because our clients are restricted to their homes except for essential journeys, it is vital that Advanced Property Care keeps functioning. A home is a haven, a safe place where we can shelter, spend time together, rest, reflect, recharge. We are still working hard to help our clients with any problems that they encounter in their homes during this difficult period.
Our estate care services continue unabated. Thanks to modern technology, we are connected through email and telephone services to all residents and can respond to queries and to emergencies - such as the leaking salt water tank valve that we arranged to have repaired last week. We are also able to continue to administer the estates - send out service charge invoices, check payments, pay invoices, liaise with professional advisers and so on.
Property care services also continue. Just last week we completed an apartment letting, to the delight of both the tenants and the property owner. We have checked all the vacant apartments in our portfolio to ensure that there are no issues in these that would cause problems for their owners in their absence, like a leak, which can be so damaging if not attended to immediately. The shut down of air travel has meant that some of our clients have had to prolong their stays away from home and it is important for them to be assured that their properties are fully and professionally cared for.
Our caretaking services still continue. Our staff have been issued with PPE and clear instructions on social distancing. They are focusing on collaborating with cleaning operatives on our client’s properties to keep communal areas as clean as possible and disinfecting items like door handles and hand rails on a daily basis.
Life is certainly taking an unusual turn at the moment, and perhaps this lockdown has highlighted for many people just how important the home is. Property, as we often say, is all about people. An apartment can be an investment for its owner and at the same time, is a home for its tenant. And at this point in time, it is vital for property to be fully functional for those who live in it, so that our homes can be the safe havens we need them to be during this difficult time.
Stay safe, keep healthy. And if you need some help about your home - call us!
