Keeping Calm during the COVID-19 Crisis

Advanced Property Care is dedicated to helping all its clients keep as safe as possible during these difficult times.

Washing hands for 20 seconds to protect from coronavirus

We know that this unprecedented crisis situation we are living through causes a good deal of anxiety for everyone. We are fully aware that many of the residents in the properties and residential estates we manage are experiencing a good deal of worry. For example, they may be worried about their health or the health of loved ones; about their finances, especially if their jobs are affected by the lockdown across Gibraltar and the rest of the world; about whether they can sustain the pressure of working from home while homeschooling their kids; about what to do to obtain refunds if their travel plans have been cancelled; about whether it is at all safe to emerge from their homes.

At Advanced Property Care, we are determined to do our bit to support each and every one of our clients in whatever way we can, and to support our community here in Gibraltar in efforts to overcome the dangers posed by the COVID-19 virus. Caring for residential estates during this pandemic crisis means making sure that the cleaning of these estates is prioritised and that we can respond quickly and flexibly to urgent situations.

We have set out to:

  1. Make sure that our team members wear appropriate PPE and practice social distancing when at work so that they, and the residents whose estates and properties they care for, keep as safe and healthy as possible.

  2. Altered cleaning routines to focus on daily hygienic cleans of all those areas that residents can come into contact with every day - door handles, hand rails, post boxes and so on.

  3. Liaised closely with cleaning contractors and their operatives to ensure that these are also protected by appropriate PPE, focus on communal areas with higher levels of resident use and are also practising social distancing.

  4. Re-worked our priorities and liaised with local suppliers and repair contractors so that we are better able to respond to any emergencies such as burst boilers or water leaks.

  5. Liaised with residents via email to reassure them that we are available on email, via WhatsApp and via telephone to help with queries and concerns regarding their properties, payment of service charges or any other problems with which we might be able to help.

  6. Liaised with our property owners to assure them that our services in caring for their properties continues, whether these are tenanted properties or their second homes.

  7. We have inspected all the vacant properties that are in our care to make sure that these are free of any problems during the enforced absence of owners that are away from Gibraltar at the current time and unable to travel due to lockdown conditions in other countries. And we have planned out a higher frequency of inspections to ensure that these properties remain in good condition.

We know that this is a worrying time. Advanced Property Care is still working to care for properties and the people that own them and live in them.

If you have any particular requirements for your property, whether you are concerned about paying your service charges, or meeting your rental payments this month, or whether you want to prepare your vacant property for letting - and there is an increasing demand for rental properties at the moment - just get in touch!
